LISTEN AND READ – UNIT 9: NATURAL DISASTERS

Thuy is having a conversation with her grandmother about the weather forecast on TV. Her grandmother asks her to turn up the volume so she can hear it clearly. The weatherman announces that Ha Noi will be sunny with temperatures between 23°C and 27°C, while there will be rain along the coast of Thanh Hoa and thunderstorms in the south-central coast. Thuy tells her grandmother that she is preparing for a picnic with some old friends and they are going to a park on the other side of the river. Her grandmother advises her to bring a raincoat just in case, even though the forecast says it will be sunny. Thuy agrees and promises to bring a raincoat along.

Thuy's grandmother wants her to turn up the volume on TV because she wants to listen to the weather forecast. It will be rainy along the coast of Thanh Hoa. The south-central coast will experience thunderstorms. Ho Chi Minh City will experience temperatures between 27°C and 35°C. Although Thuy's grandmother doesn't trust weather forecasts, she likes watching them.
